The Brilliant Green

The Brilliant Green es una banda de rock alternativo originaria de Kioto y formada en 1995. Formada por Tomoko Kawase como vocalista, Ryo Matsui y Shunsaku Okuda. 

Debutaron en 1997 con el single Bye Bye Mr. Mug bajo el sello de Sony Music. 
Su tercer single, There Will Be Love There -Ai no Aru Basho- fue usado en el dorama Love Again y llegó al número #1 de la lista Oricon dándoles mucha popularidad.
En 1999 sacan Sono Speed y Nagai Tameki no You ni que se usan en el mismo dorama, Overtime. 
En 2001 el único lanzamiento fue un album y es en 2002 cuando vuelven a la música, aunque en ese hiatus Tomoko crea a Tommy February6 y se casa en Noviembre con el integrante del grupo, Shunsaku Okuda.
Hasta 2007 no vuelven a sacar nada y solo son dos singles, en 2008 un single y su primer best album the brilliant green Complete Single Collection '97-'08 que debuta en el número #1. 
En 2009 acabaron el contrato con Sony Music y firmaron con Warner Music Japan. 
En 2010 vuelven a la música con Like Yesterday, último single que sacan con Ryo Matsui que tras eso deja el grupo. 
Desde 2014 que sacaran un self-cover album, no han habido muchas noticias del grupo.
